They said it couldn’t be done, but they didn’t know Hina Sheth. By “they” I mean all of the gynecologists, urogynecologists, physiatrists, radiologists, orthopedists and pelvic floor physical therapists who for two years told me I’d never ride a bike again. That would have been an easier pill to swallow had they been able to give me a good explanation as to what was causing my pelvic nerve pain, but nobody had a definitive answer, nor did anyone have a viable solution to end my pain.
I’d been to specialists in NYC and had a myriad of tests, including a special MRI at a well-know NYC hospital but got no definitive answers. For over two years, I went to several physical therapists specializing in pelvic pain but found very little relief. I’d been to more medical professionals in two years than I had my whole life, yet I was still in almost constant pain. Having been an athlete all of my life, becoming sedentary was an awful feeling, both physically and mentally.
Thankfully, someone told me about Hina and I went for an evaluation. She immediately made me feel at ease and throughout the course of her evaluation made me confident that she could help – something that hadn’t been done before. Not only that, she was the first one who didn’t tell me I’d never ride a bike again.I decided to commit to making the 2 hour drive from NJ to PA to continue to see her, and it was definitely the right decision. Hina took my entire body into consideration and worked on connective tissue in my legs and hips, muscle imbalances, back issues, a rotated pelvis and other issues that were causing my pudendal nerve pain. Slowly but surely, I started to feel better and was able to start teaching spin classes and ride my bike again. While I won’t be doing 100 mile rides anymore (and maybe I’m happy to have an excuse not to), I rode 60 miles on Saturday and can still sit at a computer to write about it. For that, and for getting my life back in general, I will be forever grateful to Hina Sheth.

In my third pregnancy I began experiencing significant hip and pelvic pain much earlier than I had in my prior pregnancies. In the past I’d used chiropractic care at the end of my pregnancies to deal with discomfort but that didn’t feel right for the pain I was experiencing at this time. I’d heard of Rebalance during an outreach event at my workplace and decided to check in. This was a great decision. Jackie worked with me from the middle of my pregnancy (around 24 weeks) until my 39th week. Between her manipulation and massage in the office and the exercises she prescribed at home my hip pain improved significantly. The “normal” low back pain associated with the end of pregnancy wasn’t an issue this time around probably because those muscles were stronger than they had been in the past. I credit Jacking with helping me survive my most uncomfortable pregnancy and helping me feel better in the end. I would highly recommend PT and specifically Jackie to anyone with musculoskeletal discomforts during their pregnancy. Thanks again, Sarah Robinson CNM
Sarah, Rebalance Physical Therapy
Stephanie and Rebalance have helped me so much in recovering from pelvic pain and dysfunction. Stephanie was the first person to actually explain to me what was going on and how to resolve all of my issues and that alone gives you some much needed peace of mind. Every time I go into the office I know it is a place where my issues are going to be understood and most times it is the only place I go where my issues are understood. Stephanie has helped me understand that pelvic floor issues are whole body issues and these muscles don’t operate in a vacuum, they are impacted by everything above and below. Between the appointments and at home work I am given I can see a light at the end of the pelvic dysfunction tunnel. On top of all that the office has always been extremely easy to work with as far as my schedule and when I can get in with a busy travel schedule.

I’ve suffered from pelvic floor pain and dysfunction for as long as I can remember, and Jackie changed my life in a matter of weeks. At the start of physical therapy, I was unable to have sex without experiencing intense pain. Over the next six weeks of therapy, Jackie helped me understand all the issues converging to cause my pain, and gave me daily exercises and stretches to help alleviate it. I saw her twice a week for six weeks, and by the end of that time I was able to have completely pain-free sex for the first time ever. Furthermore, Jackie is so incredibly kind and never made the experience anything less than comfortable and professional. My only regret is not seeking help sooner!
